How can you get involved?
We’re always on the lookout for new people to join the group. We tend to stage about three or four productions a year. Keep an eye on the website for news of forthcoming productions, like our Facebook page, follow us on Twitter @kingsleyplayers or e-mail: email@example.com
Audition for one of our productions (auditions are advertised on the website and our Facebook group). If you get a part, you’ll be required to attend rehearsals (normally 2 per week) and then be available throughout the week of the production. If you’ve never done it before, why not break yourself in gently and say you only want to be considered for a small part?
We would love to have some new directors for our productions – you would be responsible for casting the production, appointing a producer, running the rehearsals, managing the cast, liaising with the producer and stage management team.
Producers assist the director to put on a show. You would build a team of people to produce costumes, the set, the lighting / sound, front of house, anything else that’s required! You could break yourself in gently by being an assistant producer at first.
We make a significant amount of costumes for our productions in-house and are always grateful of new people to join the team of seamstresses. Even if you can’t sew, there may be things you could help with, like going to the market for the material!
Front of house
We need people to meet and greet our audiences, sell programmes and raffle tickets, serve tea in the interval.
Props and set
We always need people to help us find props, do a bit of painting, help build the set – even just putting the chairs out for each production. There’s a small army of people who help but more are always very welcome!
