Bite-sized Shakespeare
Kingsley Players are delighted to welcome experienced director Ed Green to join us for a fantastic new ‘bite-sized’ version of the Bard’s most famous plays.
This will be a fun, engaging production designed around the particular talents of the actors. A production not to be missed! For auditions, see http://www.kingsleyplayers.co.uk/?p=883
Director Ed Green explains: Many people fear trying to produce Shakespeare. He is the greatest dramatist of this country and his work has been pored over by academics and dramatist and theatre critics alike. His use of iambic pentameter, the long speeches, the complex characters and the academic dissertations can all be off-putting. Well Kingsley want to do Shakespeare and so why not a “Shakespearian Cabaret”: October 2015 will see as many Kingsley Players who want to “play the Bard” getting involved in a fast-paced moving tableau of extracts from some of the best comedies (and maybe other genres), laced with music, comedy and some pathos. Bottom, Oberon, Puck, Titania, Romeo, Juliet, Malvolio, Olivia and maybe even Kate & Petruchio will be strutting their stuff with Feste and others.
