Fund-raising concert for Norley Wildflower Memorial Walk – Saturday 12th September

Kingsley Players will be reprising their popular WW1 songs, poems and sketches inspired by ‘Oh What a Lovely War’ at a special fund-raising concert at Norley Village Hall on Saturday 12th September at 5pm.

Titled ‘It’s a Long Way to Tipperary’, the concert is being organised by Phil Gifford of the Norley Wildflower Group to raise money for seeds, to continue the Norley Wildflower Memorial Walk next year.

Tickets cost £7 for adults, £3.50 for children and include afternoon tea provided by Norley WI. Tickets are available from The Stores (after 1st Sept) and Phil Gifford, tel 01928 787217.

The concert is preceded by a free guided walk around the Wildflower Memorial Trail, which commemorates a dozen local men who fought in the First World War. Meet at Norley Village Hall at 3pm.

  1. Phil Gifford says:

Tickets have already been selling well and will also be on sale at the Norley Garden Show on 5th September at the Tigers Head 2pm – 4pm. There have been articles in the Northwich Guardian and Chester Chronicle this week so I suspect tickets will go quite quickly from now on.

I went to to see the first rehearsal and I must say I cried till I laughed, I am so looking forward to the performance as well as hearing Lynn Pegler’s poem “Voices of the Norley fallen” specially written for the memorial walk, recited publicly for the very first time. Its both beautiful and moving
