The Grand Gesture

A riotous evening of comic mayhem and exquisite farce, complete with ethereal gypsies and heavenly choir. And we must not forget the sausage!

The Grand Gesture

Coming soon…. Kingsley Players present: The Grand Gesture, by Deborah McAndrew. 17 – 20 May 2017.

From the same team that brought you Bite-sized Shakespeare in Kingsley, we have another production full of comedy and music.

It is spring in an English North West seaport. Simeon Duff is down on his luck: unemployed and thoroughly fed up he has a row with his missus in the middle of the night. One thing leads to another and Simeon foolishly threatens to “top himself”. But everyone takes him seriously as word spreads. So much so that a motley selection of “ne’er do wells” try to highjack his suicide for their own ”higher purposes” : love, politics, commerce, religion. Everyone gets involved.

A riotous evening of comic mayhem and exquisite farce, complete with ethereal gypsies and heavenly choir. And we must not forget the sausage!

An amateur production directed by Ed Green and presented by Kingsley Players.
