Bite Sized Shakespeare – A Cabaret
‘Bite-sized Shakespeare – A Cabaret’ (Production dates 21st – 24th Oct)
Workshop / audition for our October production, Sunday 31st May, 11am – 4pm,
Kingsley Community Centre. Everyone welcome.
Parts available for everyone!
Director Ed Green explains: Many people fear trying to produce Shakespeare. He is the greatest dramatist of this country and his work has been pored over by academics and dramatist and theatre critics alike. His use of iambic pentameter, the long speeches, the complex characters and the academic dissertations can all be off-putting. Well Kingsley want to do Shakespeare and so why not a “Shakespearian Cabaret”: October 2015 will see as many Kingsley Players who want to “play the Bard” getting involved in a fast-paced moving tableau of extracts from some of the best comedies (and maybe other genres), laced with music, comedy and some pathos. Bottom, Oberon, Puck, Titania, Romeo, Juliet, Malvolio, Olivia and maybe even Kate & Petruchio will be strutting their stuff with Feste and others.
October is the date to watch out for and see Shakespeare done like you have never seen before!
O wonder!
How many goodly creatures are there here!
How beauteous mankind is! O brave new world
That has such people in’t!
Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity! (Please bring a packed lunch. Tea/coffee provided.)
